Poroshenko issued a decree on honoring the creator of "Rus-Ukraine"

Poroshenko signed a decree on honoring the Great Prince Vladimir of Kiev Svyatoslavich as "the founder of the medieval European state of Russia-Ukraine."

The President of Ukraine Poroshenko signed a decree on holding commemorative events to mark the millennial anniversary of the death of the Grand Duke of Kiev V., whom he called "the creator of the medieval European state of Russia-Ukraine." He also ordered a series of events to mark the millennial anniversary of the death of the prince. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

 The official website of Poroshenko stated that such a decree adopted "in order to preserve and approval traditions of Ukrainian statehood, a reminder of the role of the historical heritage of Russia- Ukraine in their growth, recognizing the importance of the adoption of Christianity for the development of Ukrainian society as an integral part of European civilization. 

"Ukrainian leader also instructed the Cabinet to hold scientific conferences, seminars and other educational events. In addition, the President of Ukraine ordered to issue commemorative coins, stamps and envelopes on the activities of Prince Vladimir, and actively illuminate celebration of the Grand Duke of Kiev on television and radio.
