This has basically replaced the left-right paradigm. There is very little difference between Democrats and Republicans, even with Trump turning over the Republican party apple cart. Both favor endless war and the dominance of the corporate-bankster economic system, albeit with stylistic differences.
On the foreign policy front, Clinton is Obama on steroids. Trump has signaled he will “bomb the shit” out of designated bogeyman enemies. He has pledged to beef up the military and expand trillion dollar expenditures that will inevitably result in more war and intervention. Clinton will undoubtedly open new fronts in the Middle East and replace Obama’s ambivalence on Syria with direct intervention, much to the jubilation of the neocons.
Between now and November it will depend on who is hated and feared more, Trump or Clinton. That will be the determining factor of the election.
Congress will remain a gaggle of grocery clerks for the banks, corporations, and the military-industrial-surveillance complex.
If there is a constant it is that far too many Americans will continue to vote for “their representative” and complain about corporate lobbied grocery clerks in other gerrymandered districts.
